NRA INSTRUCTOR COURSES

All courses include all required NRA documentation, instructor guides, wall charts, sample student packets, three ring binders, range time, instruction and follow up support. You will receive everything needed to first take and then teach each course. Note: There will be processing fees to the NRA due on the class date(s)Fee(s) start at $11.00 and are determined by how many and which courses you attend.

Basic Instructor - This course teaches you the policies and procedures for becoming an NRA instructor as well as effective teaching methods for training students. Basic Instructor is a pre-requisite for all instructor level courses and is a one time only course. Basic Instructor is a 6-hour course with a class fee of $70.00.

Basic Pistol Instructor - This is an 11 hour course for experienced pistol shooters who are interested in becoming instructors. The class fee for this course is $150.00 (This course is required to become a NC or SC Concealed Carry Instructor)

Basic Rifle Instructor – This is a 14 hour course offered to skilled rifle shooters who wish to become NRA rifle instructors. The class fee for this course is $150.00. (This course is required by the Boy Scouts of America to teach any rifle or air rifle programs to all levels of Scouts)

Basic Shotgun Instructor – This is an 11 hour course designed to teach the fundamentals of shotgun shooting, both hunting and skeet/trap for shotgun. Experienced shotgun users will enjoy teaching this skill to student of all ages. The class fee for this course is $150.00.

Home Firearm Safety Instructor - This is a 5 hour course which covers pistol, rifle, shotgun and muzzleloader. Class fee for this course is $120.00.

Personal Protection in the Home Instructor - This is a 9 hour course which covers use of deadly force, awareness levels, mental preparation and defensive shooting skills. PPIH is designed as an advanced course for Concealed Permit holders and advanced pistol shooters. Pre-requisite for PPIH is NRA Basic Pistol Instructor. The class fee for this course is $160.00.

Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor - This is a 16+ hour course which covers use of deadly force, awareness levels, mental preparation, defensive shooting skills, concealed carry and draw techniques and advanced shooting techniques. PPOH is designed as an advanced course for Concealed Permit holders and advanced pistol shooters. Pre-requisites for PPOH are 1) NRA Basic Pistol Instructor 2) NRA PPIH Instructor and 3) Complete Basic and Advanced PPOH Student Level Courses. The class fee for this course is $260.00.

NRA Training Counselor Workshop - This is a three day workshop for active NRA Instructors who have two years teaching experience with at least 25 students per year. Please contact DeWayne Saunders for information on becoming a T.C. Candidate, application process and pricing.
