Refuse To Be A Victim Instructor Development Workshop


Instructor Development Workshops are taught by Regional Counselors and begin with a Refuse To Be A Victim® Seminar. The workshop then concentrates on technical aspects of the program, instructor expectations, certification guidelines, developing speaking techniques and presentation skills, marketing seminars, etc.

After attending a live RTBAV seminar (4 hour course), candidates will begin the in-depth training into the methods and standards for conducting the any RTBAV Seminars.

Topics covering the proven safety tips for home, automobile, telephone/cell phone and cyber security are studied and learned for teaching new students. Public speaking skills are enhanced along with learning the proper standards and practices of the RTBAV program.

All new Instructor candidates will be assigned sections of the Seminar Lesson Plan for “teach-back” training under the guidance of the RTBAV Regional Counselor of record. Presentations are evaluated along with a written exam determine if the person is ready to join the ranks of NRA Certified Refuse To Be A Victim Instructors!

Refuse To Be A Victim® was developed in 1993 in response to requests from women nationwide for crime prevention seminars. In 1997, the program became co-ed. With over 1,000 plus instructors nationwide, seminars have been presented in 50 states and the District of Columbia. More than 26,000 men and women have benefited from the program’s life-saving message.

Once certified, instructors are encouraged to schedule seminars in their communities for organizations, community groups, and companies, both proactively and in response to direct requests.
